what's better than going to a Buffet concert?

is there such a thing? Yes, I will tell you- going to a Buffet concert with your sister!!!
This year, I got the opportunity to see Buffet. I was given 2 tickets, and since the dear hubby was on call, I needed a date. I called my sister, who was more than happy to oblige. We went with a friend of mine, and friends of hers. (Hi Shirley, Kim and John!!) We drove down to Camden, and tailgated until 7pm, when we made our way to the concert. I smuggled a camera in, well John did. (thanks again John) and got some pics, which I am waiting for my sister to upload for me. (insert foot tapping impatiently here)The show was fabulous. He was more mellow this year, choosing songs from his "Take the Weather With you cd. That's ok though- that is one of the cds I listen to when I scrap.
We saw alot of sights that day, seriously, I don't think people look int he mirror, before they leave the house. YIKES!
I will update with concert pics, when I get them. It was such a great time, and I would do it again in a heart beat- we are already planning on next year...

it must have been a full moon

last night, things were crazy. First off, Kimbelry and Alex didn't go to bed until 10:30. So the last time I go in to check on them, get everyone back in their beds, I find ALex, in Kimberlys bed. No big thing, so I ask him to get out of his bed, and into his own. He climbs out, and stands before me. The light wasn't on, but I knew he was in more than what I put him in for bed. I flip the light on- to find, that he was wearing: a clean pull up, a pair of her knit capris, and an off the shoulder summer top. and, all of her cloths were out of her drawer and on the floor. That annoyed me, because I had just put them in there earlier in the day. *sigh* what's a mom to do. No pics this time, I was was to annoyed with the mess I would have to once again clean up. (at least it wasn't blue paint)
We are having a picnic on Tues with our neighboors, to celebrate the 4th. WHta are you doing??

The dentsit...part II

It is Kimberly's turn to visit Dr. Non. So, we get all dressed up, she finds the lai from the Buffet concert, and puts on her pretty flowers, and off we go

We get to the office, and she plays quietly with the toys, and I fill out paperwork. Adrian, the dental assistant calls her back, and they put her in the chair. She stepped on the button, that blows air, and it gave out this little burst of air and noise. Scared the bejeezes out of her. She starts to cry. Adrian puts her up int he cahir, and I need to leave
They start to brush her teeth, and that goes over like a lead balloon. Dr. Non finished up the exam, and then it is finally time to go. Kimberly is less than thrilled, and happy to leave, but, not before we get a pic. with the dentist.
She was more than happy to leave, and as soon as we walked out of his office, she asked to have her teeth brushed. Go figure. So, in 6 months, we'll try it again, and see how it goes. Until then- happy brushing!!

Going to the lake...

to have a picnic. Charcoal? Check.
Burgers and dogs? Check. Salads? Check. Tin foil? check.
Plastic Forks? Check. Ice, and drinks? Check.
Lighter to light the charcoal? Nope. Fork to turn the meat? Nope. Mustard and Ketchup? Nope. So, we had to improvise. I could do that on almost all, but the matches. I found the Ranger man, and he just so happened to have a lighter, which he graciously let me have. (thank you Mr. Ranger man...)

So we had dry dogs and burgers. With no real fork to turn the meat, we used plastic forks. Did you know that they melt when close to the flames? Well, not close to the flame, but to the charcoal smoldering in the grill. So, we had to move quickly. It worked, but we did loose one to the grill...OOPS!

After dinner, Dana and Kimberly went fishing. Didn't catch anything, but they did have a good time.

we took a walk along some of the trails, and that was nice too. A perfect way to wrap up a beautiful weekend.

It is supposed to be hotter that blazes tomorrow, and we are going to see Jimmy Buffet. (Thanks MMC)

mmmmm....

I made the jam I told you I was going to, and boy, did it turn out yummy!!! I loved it! I washed a big bowl of berrieshulled them, and then crushed them. (um, eww, strawberries oozing from inbetween your fingers is pretty gross.)
Next, add those berries and water and cook down.>

Ladel in jars, and put in a hot bath to process.

Last, enjoy!

It's strawberry time!!

it is that time of year again, when the berries are ripe, and sweet, and wonderful. There is nothing like popping a sun ripened strawberry in your mouth and enjoy. I decided that I would make jam this year, and take the kids with me to help pick. Kimberly ate more than she picked. Alex kept finding the "jackpot" of all berries, and Ethan was Ethan. Doing his own thing. He wandered around, he ate berries, he was Ethan.
Nicole and Cassie helped, and the quest for the perfect berry was on between the two.
what you don't see in this pic, is the fact that, as soon as Kimberly showed me the berry she picked, she chucked it into the box...

I am perusing my books now, to find a good jam recipe, and I think I will do that tomorrow. I love to make jelly and jam. I think it tastes better when it homemade. :) I will let you know how it turns out.

WAXED!!

Today, was Alex's very first dentist appointment. Ok coarse I needed to take him, camera in hand. He told me this morning, he did not want a root canal. After trying to assure him (without giggling) that this would certainly not be the case for him, he agreed. All morning he kept asking "is it time yet?" Just like if he were going to a party.
he went into the room, like a trooper, and when he came out, I asked him how it went this was the conversation that took place:

me: So, Alex, what did you think?
Alex: Mom, he waxed my teeth, and it tickled.
me: he waxed your teeth? How did he do that?
Alex: Yes, he did, with the spinny thing on the end of the tooth brush.
so there you have it. Dentists now do waxing.

aaaaaah, the smell of

a freshly bleached bathroom, kitchen , and a shampooed living room carpet. That is, of coarse, after I mowed the front and back yard. Yup. All before 2. Now, just looking for things to do. Dinner has been made, eaten, and cleaned up- my dishwasher softly humming in the background. Ethan and Kimberly are playing in Dora's castle. (I swear, that little hunk of plactic has more houses than people I know...)

going to hunt up something to do now. What did you do today??

Playing with Photo shop-

and I figured out some of the special features. I want to do a layout with this pic., just not sure what to do yet. Mojo for scrappin' has kind of gone to the wayside.
thanks for looking!!

ok, not having luck importing the image from photo shop. crap. It was really cute too!! I'll keep working in it.

Tagged?

Ok, so I have been informed I have been tagged. So I'll play. :) (thanks Rollie)
some of the things I will post, you may, or may not already know. Happy reading!!

These are the rules.... each player starts with 7 random fact about themselves on their Blog. People who are tagged need to blog 7 facts about themselves and post the rules as well. At the end of the blog list 7 people you are tagging. Let them know that they are tagged by leaving them a comment.

I love the smell of, and cleaning with bleach. Clorox only.

I tend to be a bit on the complusive side.

I will do anything for my friends.

I was offered a varsity position in 9th grade for basketball, but did not take it.

I think the art of canning is going to the wayside, and do it every year.

I am so a creature of habit, and seldom break routine.

I was born in, and raised some of my life in NEw Brunswick, NJ. We moved to my grandparents farm in Damascus, PA, when I was 5.

I have a collection of cameras, and love the smell of film developer. :)

I am so not sure who I am going to tag, since I do not read that many blogs.

For those of you

out there, that thought that women who scrapbook, are boring, and do nothing more thank stick stickers on a piece of paper, I will tell you this: YOU'RE WRONG!!
Today- it was a trip to Sanner's farm. (thanks Denise and Kenny!!)Alot of scrappers went, with their significant others. We decided to have a bit of girlie fun, and pose some.(the stickers that were strategically placed say "got milk") Hanging out with the girls is way fun- and you thought on a Friday night all we did was scrap...
We had a bunch of fun on the farm, took a hay ride, the kids played on a giant water slide, saw some animals, just good old fashioned fun.
A swing on the porch, with one very tired little boy, hoping to swing him to sleep. (no such luck...)

And, last, but certainly not least, is my boys. My three boys. Aren't they just so flippin' cute? 3 boys + 1 wagon of hay = extremely happy people.- and this is still further proof, that for all 3 of my kids, I was merely the pod...

Quiet Sunday Morning-

Loaded Photo shop 5 on my computer the other day, and am looking forward to using it, although i must admit, I need to figure it out first. I see some of the girls using it, to create these amazing photos for some pretty spectacular layouts. (Julie) :)
I want to do something with this pretty cool picture I took in Tortola, of a rooster. I will post both of then. but for now, you will get the before.
Today we are supposed to go to a farm of one of the girls we scrap with on occasion, and I hope it does not rain (looking pretty blah out there now.)Thanks D.
Also- My nephew graduated H.S. this past Friday- congrats Bubba, I love you. We are very proud of you!!
in the spirit of the trip to the farm, and my trip to Tortola- enjoy my chicken!!

The fun of summertime

so this is what we did today- I set up the slip and slide, and filled the kiddie pool. It was 90+ degrees today, and hot, hot, hot. Kids have a great time, running and splashing in the no doubt freezing water. In the heat though, it didn't much seem to matter. Toweled everyone off, and brought them inside for a snack (see, I told you this would be a bit mundane), and gave Ethan watermelon. You know, the big juicy kind, that when you bite it, the juise runs down your arm. He loved it. He ate a huge piece of it. You can't get Alex or Kimberly near it with a 10 foot pole. it was everywhere. Down his shirt, all over his shorts, running down his arms, you name it, there it was. But- it is summertime, and that's what it's all about, isn't it

This is what it's all about~

For those of you, who know me, know that I love to garden roses. Nothing makes me happier. I thought I would share some of my roses with you, so they can brighten your day, as much as they brighten mine. I have passed down this love to Kimberly, who likes to help water, and pick my roses. Well, more like pluck my roses...she would pluck them off, and sprinlke them over me and say "happy birsday mommy" Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

summer time + kids + chalk = doodled on sidewalks. Love that. Love the idea that they love that. Love that they draw, and doodle and get creative. We had a fun afternoon- what'd YOU do?

I didn't do it

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

4 words, that each time I hear them, I cringe. Today, while "resting" in my room, Alex found a bottle of smurf-blue paint. My once beige carpets are now spattered in blue. My hope chest cushion- blue. The dog bed...blue.(apparently the dog painted his own bed...) *sigh*
I have tried to steam clean, but still have remenents of blue... Dog bed, still blue. The child? blissfully asleep in his bed.

the one and only cherrios

Ok, so I come out in my kitchen to find this: Ethan had gotten the box of Cheerios off the kitchen table, and sat down in front of the couch, to enjoy his snack. He spilled not one of them on the floor, the results could have been disasterous! Guess that is why it is good to have dogs around, huh? but seriously, how stinkin' cute is he??

First time for everything...

Ok, so this is something I swore I would never do. But, since I have family near, and far I decided what they heck. I know several people who do blog, some on a -not-so-regular-basis-you-know-who-you-are..., and others that do it on a regular basis, and it is something I look foreward to reading. Those people did not spontaniously combust, nor did they sprout a third head... Never thought anything I had to say was THAT important, and earthshattering, so be prepared for the mundane.
So, since some of the girls I scrap with are going out of their comfortzone and trying something new, I thought I would do the same.
